When you need an arresting title sequence in a hurry and don’t have a motion graphics package at hand, you can create quite sophisticated-looking titles inside QLab. Combining the typography controls in the Text cue (in v3 this was called the Titles cue) with Video Effects and geometry properties, and animating these using Fade cues, can be very effective. In particular, changes in blur amounts and rotation, with rapid changes of scale, can give great results like this:
